Fairy ring champignons

Finally, after many months of stop and start I've finished this piece of carving. Mushrooms carved into a beautiful slice of acacia wood I found in the forest. I love the way the colours change as it gets towards the bark and I chose a natural subject which I hope complements the form of the wood. I waxed the mushrooms and the surround with a clear wax but tried to keep background unwaxed as a contrast. Photo by the talented Wavepanther71.
