Needle felted over a wire skeleton, silk fibres for the mane and tail and Fimo clay for the hooves. First try at felting over a wire skeleton and I,m very happy with the result. The legs and especially the hooves were the trickiest and I hope they're not too wobbly for those experts out there!

Thank you, I did lots of research into horse forms, glad you think it paid off! Love your rabbits by the way! :}

This is amazing. It has to be one of the best needle felted horses I've ever seen.

So pretty! I just love buckskins ♥ The legs are so dainty and I really like the fiber you used for the mane and tail. Wonderful!

Thanks, the legs were a bugger to do! I used silk fibres for the mane which worked really well. :>

A really beautiful and well proportioned horse. It's quite difficult to felt such thin legs over a wire armature, I can't believe you didn't break any needles. :D
The mane and tail look very realistic, what sort of fibers did you use? On my horse I've used normal (mulberry) silk fibers and it looks completely different.

Thank you, I did have to cut a hole in the under layer of felting to shorten the neck as it looked like a llama! It was my first wire framed sculpture so I went very carefully, broke 2 needles on the bird I did next! I used silk fibres for the mane and tail bit nervous as to how well they'd stay in place but once felted seemed really solid. Making a dragon now so we'll see how that turns out, keep in touch! :}

wow this looks great! Yes the legs and hooves are always a pain. I normally end up making my hooves oversized so my horses will stand lol
